Internet Archive et al v Mukasey et al

In December 2007 the FBI issued the The Internet Archive (most famous for its WayBackMachine) with a National Security Letter directing the Internet Archive to provide information about visitors to the site.

As the Internet Archive is regarded as a library, such a request is unconstitutional and the Internet Archive along with the EFF – Electronic Frontier Foundation, fought the request and on 5th May 2008 the FBI withdrew its request.
