Dates: NTFS Date Time Value

The date/time value for for the NTFS file system is stored in a format similar to the  Unix date/time format.

The NTFS date is stored as the number of 100 nano seconds since 1st January 1601. As this is a 64 bit number, rather than a 32 bit number this will run until 60056, by which points its fair to say Micrsoft will have moved on from NTFS. Unix date/time offset which starts from 1970 and runs out in 2038.
